Register for the Summer 2017 UC Cybersecurity Summit Today!

By David Rusting, Chief Information Security Officer, UC Office of the President.  Now is the time to register for the Summer 2017 UC Cybersecurity Summit, which will be held as part of the 2017 Information Security Symposium on Tuesday, June 20, and Wednesday, June 21, on the UC Davis campus.  All UC IT staff with an interest in cybersecurity are welcome, and encouraged to participate.  The symposium usually sells out so I encourage you to register soon.

The Summit is UC’s semiannual meeting that brings together people from across the university to talk about cybersecurity and cyber-risk management.  This time we are combining the Summit with UC Davis’ Information Security Symposium, resulting in the largest UC Cybersecurity event to date!

The Summit will take the form of a dedicated track, themed “The Race to Resilience,” presented as part of the Symposium. Summit sessions will build upon UC’s goal of strengthening systemwide cyber-resilience, and draw on experience and best practices from UC’s cyber practitioners and industry experts.

This combined event is a great opportunity for you to meet IT peers, learn from industry and UC professionals, and exchange ideas related to a wide range of security topics.  We hope you can join us for two days of news, information and insights about computing and security, plus plenty of opportunities to network with peers from throughout the University of California, California State ISOs and other higher education institutions.

Registration is open until May 22, 2017, and the $95 registration fee gives you access to all the lectures, panel discussions, hands-on labs, breakfasts, lunches and refreshments.  Please see https://infosecsymposium.ucdavis.edu/ for details and registration.
