SANS Training for UC at Greatly Reduced Rate

SANS Logo

By Greg Loge.  UC staff may register for the SANS course, SEC505: Securing Windows and PowerShell Automation, January 29 – February 3, 2018, for only $1,180. This greatly reduced rate (down from over $5,000) is made available by Risk Services and the Office of Ethics, Compliance & Audit Services at the UC Office of the President.

If you want to learn how to secure a network of Windows computers and advance your IT career, this is the course for you!

Attendees will learn how to harden Windows systems, and automate the process to monitor and enforce those settings effectively and efficiently across their entire domain. Powershell scripting will be taught and attendees will receive over 200 PowerShell scripts to use in their operational duties as defenders of University assets. Attendees should be familiar with basic Windows and Active Directory concepts.

Participants may attend in person or participate in a live simulcast of the class. We highly encourage the in-person experience, which is a great opportunity to network with UC colleagues and interact with the instructor.

Location

The in-person session will be held at the UCLA Meyer & Renee Luskin Conference Center. We have reserved a block of hotel rooms at the conference center for a discounted, inclusive rate of $239 per night for January 28 – February 3, 2018. To use this rate, go to the reservations website or call the reservation desk at (310) 206-8585 and provide the group attendee code 180128SAN.
