UC Women in Tech Session: Mentorship and Sponsorship

Jenn Stringer, Associate Vice Chancellor for IT and Chief Information Officer for the University of California, Berkeley

Don’t miss the annual UC Women in Technology Committee’s featured session, during the final Virtual UC Tech, on Tuesday, January 26, at 3:30 pm.

Jenn Stringer, Associate Vice Chancellor for IT and Chief Information Officer at UC Berkeley, will host a talk, With a Little Help From My Friends: The Importance of Mentorship and Sponsorship, about the value – particularly for women – of having both mentors and sponsors throughout one’s career. She will discuss how a mentor differs from a sponsor, why each are important, how to establish these relationships, and how her own career path was shaped and supported through this crucial network.

If you haven’t already registered for UC Tech, register now. Once you’ve registered you can add this session, and any others, to your personal schedule. Registered attendees will receive Zoom information as we get closer to the event.

The theme of the final Virtual UC Tech is “Together We Rise”, featuring topics of professional development, women in tech, diversity, and accessibility. This session is from the Empowering Women and Diversity in the IT Community track.
