Upcoming Webinar: “We’re Moving Your Cheese!” – Communicating IT Change

Date: Wednesday, June 28, 2017

Time: Noon – 1:00pm

Description: Communications can make or break your IT project. When UC Irvine undertook a potentially contentious pilot of a new campus-wide LMS, our comprehensive communication strategy led to solid participation and eventual adoption of the system. We’ll share our processes, framework, templates, and strategies for successfully navigating IT change communication.

Presenters: Kelsey Layos is the Manager of the Academic Web Technologies and Academic Applications Development teams in UC Irvine’s Office of Information Technology. Kelsey’s role includes management of UC Irvine’s learning management systems, which are currently in a transitionary period as the campus moves away from dependence on the 20-year-old home-grown legacy EEE website, to a new model supporting a broader ecosystem of tools. The Canvas learning management system, named EEE+ Canvas at UCI, forms the core of this new ecosystem and provides a comprehensive set of tools to manage courses (See: http://sites.uci.edu/canvas/).

Ray Vadnais is the User Experience Architect for the Academic Web Technologies team in UC Irvine’s Office of Information Technology. Ray’s role includes designing useful, usable solutions for the campus learning management systems and supporting tools in collaboration with campus users, as well as working to make the campus transition to Canvas as seamless as possible.
