UC Irvine and UC Berkeley are finalists for the Gartner “Eye on Innovation” awards this year in two (2) categories: (1) UC Irvine’s EVOLVE, a talent enhancement platform powered by AI, is nominated under the “Enhancing IT People, Processes and Skills” category; and (2) UC Berkeley’s Web Application Security Program is a finalist under the “Enhancing Student Experience & Security” category. Background on the award
The Physician Executive Leader of the Year Award recognizes a physician leader who demonstrates significant leadership in optimizing health engagements and care outcomes through information and technology. The award is given for success and achievement as a physician leader championing information and technology to optimal strategic impact. The recipient is selected jointly by the Board of Directors of the Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems (AMDIS) and HIMSS.
Pandita’s nomination
Deepti Pandita, MD has made a significant impact on the healthcare industry, specifically in clinical informatics and solving digital disparities. Pandita practices as an internist and is currently an Associate Professor and CMIO at the University of California, Irvine. She serves on the AMIA Board of Directors, chairs the Medical Informatics Committee for the American College of Physicians, and is a member of the HIMSS Physician Committee. Dr. Pandita was recognized as the 2023 AMIA Informatics Physician Leader of the Year.
