Last Friday, September 11, we held the UC IT Town Hall. Many people joined remotely from around the UC system as well as in person at UCOP. Larry Conrad, Chair of the UC IT Leadership Council (ITLC) and UCB CIO (shown right) talked about the ITLC’s vision for IT collaboration across UC and plans for the coming year.
Dr. Mike Pfeffer, CIO for UCLA Health Sciences (shown 2nd from left), showed how electronic heath records and other technologies can help health professionals communicate more effectively with patients. He called it, “Lost in Translation No More!”
And Candace Jones, UCOP Web Applications Manager (shown left), said “user experience takes a village,” as she described a project to better understand and improve how high school students and their families interact with the applyUC undergraduate admission application.
There’s a lot of really interesting and innovative work going on in IT at UC. We like to showcase some of it at these quarterly town halls. If you didn’t get a chance to join us live, you can watch the town hall anytime.
