Learn about privacy laws and how to best protect yourself at the Privacy 101 Online Webinar, presented by the UC San Diego Campus Privacy Office, on May 18, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The Privacy 101 Workshop will focus on privacy issues and best methods to protect personal data. Other topics to be discussed include recently-enacted privacy laws and how UC San Diego handles personal data, including data about applicants, faculty and staff, research participants, alumni, online leaders, public databases, etc.
This training is ideal for anyone who handles personal data, IT professionals, managers, researchers, or any students, faculty, or staff who want to learn how to protect their own data.
Zoom information will be sent the morning of the training for all registered participants.
Training will begins at 9:00 a.m. Participants are asked to login 15 minutes early. After login, participants will enter a waiting room. Once their identity is verified they will be allowed into the meeting.
If you can’t make it 15 minutes early, still please attend.
Users are allowed to register and/or attend using an alternative to their full name, such as their initials or an appropriate pseudonym for privacy. However, due to concerns around Zoombombing and inappropriate access, anyone using a pseudonym (or other name alternative) must give advance notice. If you’d like to use appropriate pseudonyms for registration or attendance, email the UCSD Privacy Office before the session with your real name and email address. Unknown participants will be removed from the session.
